Culinary Complements
Goat Cheese Crackers
These can be brushed with an egg wash and sprinkled with Maldon sea salt, sesame seeds or poppy seeds for a crisp complement to Sauvignon Blanc.
- 1/4 tsp. cayenne pepper
- 1 C. flour
- 1 C. chevre, fresh goat's milk cheese
- 3 Tbs. butter
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 cup hazelnuts, toasted and chopped
- 1/2 cup shredded Parmesan cheese
Toast hazelnuts for 7 minutes at 350°, cool and then chop fine. Mix all ingredients by hand or with mixer (cut together as in making pie dough) and roll into logs. Chill until firm. Slice into coins and bake on parchment-lined pans. Bake at 350° for 6-10 minutes. Serve warm or at room temperature with Duckhorn Vineyards Napa Valley Sauvignon Blanc.
